2018, Times are a changin
The plan to write at least one blog post update a month has not gone well, which is completely my fault. 2017 in to 2018 has brought a lot of change for designasaw.
One of the biggest changes has been the move to a new larger workshop. Still no echos bouncing around an massive industrial until but hopefully in time, for now we have more dedicated space to grow. With a new workshop has come new tools and new capability.
The CNC Router has found a new home along with a host of new parts to make production quicker and more accurate. Cutting at around 50% quicker than before.
All of the performance upgrades have been painted in the new designasaw workshop signature colour. Chosen by a competition ran on the Facebook and Instagram account.
"Gamboge" beat two other colours in a poll and now features throughout the workshop.
A new addition to the workshop has been a Dewalt table saw, coupled with a Axminster dust extraction system. This little table saw is a brilliant bit of kit and the dust extractor should help keep the workshop clean and our lungs working. The Dewalt yellow fits nicely with the colour theme as well (always important). Another tool is a second hand planer which lets us work with rough sawn wood and clean up painted signs quickly. This requires a bit of restoration and maybe a lick of paint?
The reason for all this investment in equipment has been to be able to offer Bespoke Furniture and Custom made Signs along side our CNC cut acoustic speaker & phone holder range, One of our projects in 2018 is a pair of Kitchen bar stools.
Also in development is a range of pre-designed furniture which can be tailored to suit your space. We hope to have more information on this in the coming months, check out our Instagram feed for some sneak peaks. There's even a plan in the pipeline for a Kick-starter campaign to help get a new project idea off the drawing board.
So 2018.... it's going to be busy.
Last thing Christmas 2017 was again a busy time and a big thank you to all of our customers who made it another successful season.
Don't forget to check us out on Facebook and Instagram @designasaw.
Thank you.
